2026 WAAC Spring Classic Swim Meet Review

Middlesex Swimming would like to congratulate our age group and varsity swimmers that raced at the 2026 WAAC Spring Classic swim meet this past weekend in Wilmot!!!

2026 WAAC Spring Classic Swim Meet Review

This past weekend in Wilmot 18 of our swimmers raced in the 2026 WAAC Spring Classic swim meet, which had swimmers from around Southwestern Ontario in attendance. Again, our swimmers had an excellent competition! We had a lot of heat winners (who won some very cool stickers or key chains) as well as a couple of swimmers won exciting bell heat races (where they raced for further prizes - 1st person to the wall wins a bigger prize in addition to a key chain or sticker!!!). Additionally, almost every single swimmer achieved personal best times (16 of our 18 swimmers obtained a best time in at least one of their races) and we had loads of swimmers competing in new races for the 1st time, who all did an awesome job within those performances :)

Special mention goes out to Auden Banner who competed in her 1st swim meet ever! Auden did outstanding at her 1st ever swim meet and ended up blowing away her times that she had completed in our Race Night practices... In one race Auden ended up beating her time by well over 1min :) Also, the club would like to highlight and recognize Alizée Stanish who qualified for the Long Course Western Regional Swimming Championships in the 12 year old category 200m breaststroke – Congratulations Alizée!

The club would also like to recognize our top male and female athletes who took off the most amount of time at the swim meet (i.e. the most improved swimmers at the swim meet).  The female swimmer with the most time taken off was Auden Banner with 174.24secs taken off (or about 2:54.24 in time off) and the male with the most time taken off was Toby Johnson with 140.98secs taken off (or about 2:20.98 in time off).

Congratulations Auden and Toby on your BIG IMPROVEMENTS in the pool this past weekend and again wonderful job everyone on your performances at the swim meet!!!

The club would like to ensure that we provide our many thanks to the Wilmot Aquatic Aces Swim Club (WAAC) and all of the other volunteer officials for helping to run this wonderful swim meet this past weekend!
