Middlesex Swimming would like to congratulate Seamus Chan and Dominic Lee who raced at the 2026 Ontario Age Group Swimming Championships in Scarborough this past weekend as well as Georgia Teare for participating in her 2nd Swim For Heart event!!!

2026 Ontario Age Group Swimming Championships Swim Meet Review

Seamus and Dominic began racing this past Friday in Scarborough at the 2026 Ontario Age Group Swimming Championships. Again, this level of competition attracts the very best swimmers from all across Ontario as well as some swimmers from across Canada. For Seamus in his only race of the weekend, he was only 0.04 from beating his personal best time in his 50m butterfly, which he set almost 2 years ago. Additionally, he was able to move up to a higher ranking within the event. For Dominic he was able to improve upon his rankings in all of his races that he competed within compared to where he was ranked heading into the competition this past weekend. Additionally, Dominic went onto qualify to swim again in finals within 2 of his races (50m freestyle & 50m butterfly) and swam to some new personal best times… Or was very close to his all-time personal bests in every race that he completed - Congratulations Seamus and Dominic on your performance this past weekend and we look forward to seeing how you perform at future competitions in the near future!!!

Swim For Heart Masters Swim Meet Review

At the Swim For Heart Georgia Teare ended up completing her 2nd every LC 1500m freestyle where she beat her pervious best time of 22:48.42 from last year's event by over a 1min with a 21:44.28. Georgia was overall pretty pleased with her race, although she knows she can go faster, however she was happy to have had yet another positive experience! Georgia is already looking ahead to her future swim meets with clearer goals and our coaching staff is very confident that she will continue to improve and achieve even faster times at her upcoming competitions because of what we have been continually seeing from Georgia in training over these past two seasons.

Also, we are excited to pass on that Georgia again set 5 club records within her 1500m freestyle that she completed this past Sunday, March 8th. Georgia ended up breaking her own records for the long course 100m + 200m + 400m + 800m (all within her 1500m freestyle) as well as the 1500m freestyle for women in the 30–34-year-old age category with her time of 21:44.28 - Congratulations Georgia!!!

The club would like to ensure that we provide our many thanks to Swim Ontario, the Etobicoke Olympian Masters Aquatic Club (EOMAC), and all of the other volunteer officials for helping to run these excellent swim meets this past weekend!
