Semi Serious Masters Swim Meet Review

Middlesex Admin

Middlesex Swimming would like to congratulate our 14 masters swimmers that raced in the 2024 Charlie Lane Semi Serious swim meet that was held in Etobicoke on Saturday, November 30th!!!

Our masters’ swimmers were taking advantage of the 1st Masters swim meet of the 2024-2025 season which was hosted by EOMAC on Saturday, November 30th in Etobicoke to have some fun, connect with our aquatic friends, and to enjoy some serious as well as not so serious racing and relays.

Our group of Masters swimmers ended up totaling loads of wonderful performances at the Charlie Lane Semi Serious swim meet, everyone placed top 3 or higher in their respective age categories and events, and many of the masters swam to record breaking performances. An outstanding number of 14 new club records were set at the competition!!! Additionally, the club had a couple of members participating in their 1st ever masters swim meet, who did amazing, and we hope have caught the bug to continue on taking part in many more masters events to come for each of them in the future. However, the most important parts of the swim meet (as it should always be no matter your age) was that everyone swam their best, made new friends, pushed themselves outside of their comfort zones, and ended the competition off with some excellent food and time to socialize.

The club would like to ensure that we provide our many thanks to the Etobicoke Olympium Masters Aquatic Club (EOMAC), and all of the volunteer officials for helping to run this excellent competition for our swimmers this past weekend! As always, many thanks to everyone who assisted in putting this event together, as we know that many unseen hours of sacrifice and hard work take place behind the scenes in order to run swim meets and provide everyone with memorable experiences that last for many years to come.

Finally, the club would like to thank our dedicated coaching staff who take loads of time out of their weekends to ensure everyone was very well looked after whether at the swim meets or back at practice.

Good luck to all of our athletes in your respective competitions and within your races. Our club knows that you will all perform your hearts, arms, lungs, and legs out in the pool... But also hope that you have a wonderful time!

Keep up the wonderful work everyone both in and out of the pool so that we can keep making waves, having memorable experiences, and continue to stay healthy!
